Concept of the basic course
"History and Theology of the Reformed Church"

The basic course "History and Theology of the Reformed Church" is divided into 23 lessons. These are arranged in two main subjects:

Part A: History of the Reformed Church
Part B: Theology of the Reformed Church

» Debate platform to the basic course

Each separate lesson comprises 5-15 pages (DIN A4 = 210 x 297 mm). Short quotations from source material help the user to make a direct contact with the facts that are to be presented. In addition there is audiovisual information in the form of pictures, graphs and musical samplers. Beyond being merely a medium for information the basic course tries to achieve two goals:

  1. It offers impulses to further work on the subject and both to inquiries and references to further sources of information. In this way the basic course should awake further interest among its users and enable them to go into the knowledge already gained in greater detail.

  2. It offers the possibility of interaction not only between those using the basic course and those who compiled it, but also between the former and other experts.

The basic course "History and Theology of the Reformed Church" is being compiled by Dr. Georg Plasger/Göttingen (texts) and Dr. Matthias Freudenberg/Erlangen (editorial work).
